Nothing could prepare me for the emotional departure day, both from Lukla and then having to board the plane home from Kathmandu. I realized I missed Nepal before I even left and will cherish the kindness and compassion of the people, the magnificence of the mountains and the sheer peace I sat in, every day. This day will be forever etched in my memory. I remember staring at the map in our dining room wall as a kid, and dreaming about all of the places I could go.
