Trip of a Lifetime

Without a doubt, the biggest trip of my life is about to happen. I've had the luxury and good fortune to travel to many exciting and exotic places, but this one takes the cake. From the planning, researching, shopping, exercising, and doing all of the due diligence I can think of, putting my feet on Mount Everest Base Camp is about to become a reality.

If you're familiar with #Emergenetics, let me share a bit about myself. I am 2*T*C121. It is my nature to one day ensure all of my belongings are neat, tidy and orderly, and the next day, in the spur of the moment, get a new tattoo or have this wild idea to go to Mount Everest, and well, just do it! So how did my Emergenetics preferences show up planning this trip? Let's see:

Having a #Structural Preference, I was likely to approach the trip with a detailed plan and a focus on preparation. In fact, I spent hours doing this. I researched the route, the weather conditions, and the necessary equipment to ensure that I was going to be fully prepared. I sought the advice of a Travel Agent to ensure that no detail was missed and have every aspect of the trip stored in an on-line travel itinerary so I know what is happening when. Flight numbers, flight times, transfers, cost of Visas, multiple passport photos and exact change for tipping. My detailed packing list was also created, so I don't forget anything and I already have everything laid out, ready to put in my suitcase before I leave.

All of this, it brings me great comfort because I also know that if something doesn't go as planned, I can rely on my problem-solving skills to handle any unexpected challenge.

But that's only one side of the coin, I also have a preference for #Conceptal Thinking. While my Structural preference is keeping everything in check, my Conceptual preference likes to kick in at unexpected places of the planning. This trip is a potential for personal growth and transformation. It is an opportunity to challenge myself, push my limits, and learn more about my own capabilities, all with only me, a guide and a Sherpa! This is going to be an unbelievable experience to be creative, to write, to take pictures and to simply be.

So, this is me. The trip of a lifetime and I truly can't wait to experience every moment, no matter what comes my way.

I'm curious, what does vacation planning look like for you?
